A flat lay created for an online design client. Not all clients need full service design but seek some help with the overall vision for their space and selections for their home. Once we are working together I always ask to be sent any photos you love or really don’t. I then create mood boards and once we have locked in the overall vision for your space, I create flat lays for every room with full product lists. This means you can stick to your vision and not get overwhelmed with choices. There is so much imagery out there which is beautiful so it’s hard not to be pulled in a million different design directions

A designer can project manage and work with their team of trades but can also work alongside your chosen builder and trades. So many struggle with all the decisions that need to be made throughout a reno or build. This can lead to hasty decisions and you not loving your new home. I love to listen to what YOU want. What is your vision for your room/home? A designer can guide you through the process, offer alternative design choices that you may not have thought of and help you stick to your budget. We are always one step ahead which reduces hasty, expensive decisions without compromising on the overall design of your new home.

I’m starting the week designing a few bathrooms for clients. I always start a project with an initial appointment to discuss my clients vision for the space. The B word (BUDGET) is always high on the list before I start planning and sourcing. I thought I’d share a few tips that can help make your budget go further if you are renovating-

TIP 1 – Planning is everything when you are trying to stick to a tight budget. Last minute decisions tend to be costly and can result in a space you don’t love. I start with a moodboard and plan from there.

TIP 2 - Try to keep plumbing and electrics in the same position. If you can make the current floorplan work, this will keep costs down.

TIP 3 – Tiling to the ceiling looks amazing but not all walls need to be tiled. Walls without a shower, bath or vanity can be painted rather than tiled in a colour that works well with the bathroom colour pallet.

TIP 4 – Buying a vanity off the shelf (not custom made) can help the budget. Most include a benchtop and sink for a reasonable price. If your budget can stretch, a stone benchtop will add a luxe feel to your space.

Tip 5 - Consider hiring a Designer/Decorator. We have great relationships with trades and suppliers which helps a project run smoothly. We have access to trade only products and pricing which can be passed on to our clients.
